City to Provide Medicines for Qurban Animal

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Department (KPKP) is preparing medicines and vitamin special for qurban animal. It aims to prevent contagion diseases, particularly ahead of Eid Adha 2015.

Head of Husbandry and Animal's Health Division for Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security, Agung Priambodo stated, the antemortem of qurban animal which enter Jakarta will also be checked . It aims to prevent sick and defect animals sold.

"Eventually, when qurban animals start entering and being sold in Jakarta, then they will be checked, as prevention of contagion diseases," he explained, Wednesday (8/26).

He told, if the animals are sick then they will be given the medicines for free. "For sick animals will be marked with cross thus citizens know. And the owners will be provided with vitamins and medicines for their animals," he told.

However, he continued, it cannot be tolerated if it has severe ill. "Those animal must not be sold," he asserted.

He also asked all the traders to have health certificates and license to enter Jakarta issued from their origin. "Last year, there were only 50 traders applying the license, but the trading number is more than that. Now, for processing the license should be in PTSP," he disclosed.
